Owls hit back to sink Rovers
High-flying Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat Tranmere 2-1 at Prenton Park.
Tranmere took a deserved lead in the 39th minute through Jose Baxter, with his strike from the edge of the box taking a deflection off Rob Jones and flying out of the reach of Stephen Bywater.
Wednesday levelled in added time at the end of the first half with Chris Lines finding the right corner from 20 yards.
At the other end Andy Robinson brought a diving save from Bywater on 67 minutes before Baxter missed the target by inches when set up by Lucas Akins shortly afterwards.
The Owls went ahead in the 79th minute with a close-range header by sub Ryan Lowe from a headed pass by Reda Johnson following a Ben Marshall cross.
