Lloyd Owusu handed Chris Turner's struggling Wednesday a First Division lifeline with two goals.

And Turner remains defiant that Wednesday can avoid the drop with just five games to go.

Wednesday dominated the game but looked to have thrown the points away after Wimbledon snatched two goals in three minutes before Owusu and Lee Bradbury hit the target.

Northern Ireland midfielder Alan Quinn saw his curling free kick snatched from under the bar by Kelvin Davis as desperate Wednesday looked for an early goal.

The lively Quinn powered a long range strike over the top before Owusu headed past Davis in the tenth minute only to be ruled offside.

Wednesday went close again 11 minutes later, winger Michael Reddy chasing the ball down the right flank before cutting it back to Owusu who was foiled by the Wimbledon keeper as he tried to steer it in at the near post.

Wimbledon caught Wednesday on the break in the 33rd minute, David Connolly outpacing Dean Smith before drilling in a shot from just inside the area that was blocked by Kevin Pressman as he charged off his line.

Wimbledon fell behind in the 40th minute. Richard Evans triggered the move picking out Bradbury and he slipped the ball to Reddy who tucked it into the far corner from 15 yards out.

Owusu grabbed the second in the 48th minute after Davis collided with defender Ben Chorley as he cut out an Ashley Westwood free kick, Owusu stabbing the ball past the stranded keeper.

Wimbledon hit back with two goals in three minutes to pull level. David Connolly grabbed the first in the 53rd minute running onto a pass from Nigel Reo-Coker to slot the ball past the advancing Pressman Patrick Agyemang struck three minutes later weaving his way past two defenders before beating Pressman with a low shot at the near post Owusu snatched the lead back for Wednesday in the 72nd minute after Westwood picked out Reddy and he produced an inch-perfect cross for Owusu to power a header past Davis.

Bradbury had the final word 14 minutes from time with a low shot from 12 yards.
