Substitute Aaron Wilbraham grabbed two goals to ruin Shefki Kuqi's big day as County came from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday.
The former Stockport striker scored Wednesday's opener and set up the second before Wilbraham stepped off the bench with a double blast.
Former Wednesday bad boy, midfielder Owen Morrison, booed every time he touched the ball went close with a curling right foot shot which took a wicked deflection, Kevin Pressman adjusting quickly to fingertip the ball round the foot of the post as County started brightly.
Pressman, back in the side with first choice Ola Tidman sidelined for two months, foiled County again with the Sheffield side in disarray, diving to his left to smother a Rob Jones effort.
Wednesday, pegged back by County in the opening minutes, snatched the lead in the 16th minute with Kuqi grabbing his fifth of the season.
The Finland international, with a score to settle against his old boss Carlton Palmer, jumped powerfully at the near post to connect with Terry Cooke's pin point corner and steered the ball into the far corner.
He almost grabbed another 12 minutes later after Paul McLaren's ball into the goalmouth caused panic. Keeper Nick Colgan was left stranded as the Wednesday striker drilled a low shot towards the net, cleared off the line by Rick Lambert.
Kuqi set up Wednesday's second on 31 minutes as Wednesday grabbed a stranglehold on the game. His deep cross from the left was deflected as the ball looped towards Adam Proudlock and his deep header to the far post was pushed over the line by the incoming Quinn.
Stockport sub Wilbraham put County back into the game just 15 seconds after the re-start. With his first touch of the ball after replacing Daly he ran onto a Chris Williams pass to beat Pressman at the near post.
Wilbraham snatched the Stockport equaliser in the 73rd minute running onto a pass from fellow sub Ali Gibb to finish with a simple tap in from six yards.
