Owls take Wigan player on deadline day
Sheffield Wednesday moved to secure the services of Wigan Athletic midfielder Josh Windass on loan until the end of the season on transfer deadline day.
The 26-year-old former Rangers player has scored 4 times in 16 appearances for Wigan this season. His goal-threat and ability to go at defenders in the final third will have been a key reason for Garry Monk bringing him to Hillsborough as the Owls have not scored enough goals from central midfield areas for some time.
Josh is the son of former Hull City legend Dean Windass, who also had a loan spell with the Owls during his career. Along with fellow deadline day signing Connor Wickham, Windass could make his debut next weekend at Barnsley.
