International keeper on the bench for Owls
Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore has selected Joe Wildsmith in goal for Sheffield Wednesday’s trip to AFC Wimbledon today, meaning Bailey Peacock-Farrell has to settle for a place on the bench.
Peacock-Farrell has been Wednesday’s 1st choice keeper this season but Wildsmith started the league victory against Bolton Wanderers last weekend as Peacock-Farrell was away on international duty with Northern Ireland.
Peacock-Farrell, on loan from Premier League Burnley, enjoyed an impressive start to his Wednesday career, keeping clean sheets in all of the Owls first four league games. However, in recent games some uncharacteristic errors have cost the Owls points. Wildsmith took his chance last weekend, although he did not have much to do he looked assured in doing the basics, made an important save at the start of the second half and kept a clean sheet as the Owls recorded their first home win in three attempts.
