Sheffield Wednesday have been dealt a blow with the news that winger Jermaine Johnson will be out for around six weeks with a hamstring tear. JJ picked up the injury midway through the first half in the midweek win at Blackpool and is now likely to miss somewhere in the region of 10 matches.
Although Wednesday made light of his absence in going on to record victories at Bloomfield Road and then against Peterborough on Saturday the news will still come as a significant blow to new manager Alan Irvine.
The Scot utilised the Jamaican as a second striker in his first game in charge at Oakwell last week to devastating affect as he scored the winner and caused Barnsley no end of problems on the counter attack.
