Sheffield Wednesday have made transfer moves with the future in mind today, bringing in 2 young prospects that were previously on the books of Premier League teams.
20-year-old Matt Young has signed a one-year deal with the Owls. The defender, who is primarily a right-back, has grown up alongside a talented bunch of young players at Southampton and was captain of the Saints under-18's team.
Young had a short trial with the Owls last season and will be hoping to make his way into Stuart Gray's first team plans next season.
Wednesday have also signed 18-year-old Ed Sanders. Sanders, a central defender, has been involved in the Stoke City academy and has been a regular in their under-18's team for two seasons. It is thought that Sanders will initially be a member of the Owls development squad.
