Sheffield Wednesday take on Swansea at Hillsborough on Saturday under the leadership of Sean McAuley following the departure of Brian Laws last Sunday.
With the Owls currently on a run of 9 games without a win the caretaker manager may choose to make a few changes in an attempt to try and arrest this dismal run of form which has seen the slide into the Championship relegation zone.
Michael Gray and Luke Varney have recently spent time on the subs bench as has defender Richard Hinds and all three could be in contention for a recall.
Wednesday have recently switched between 4-4-2 an 4-3-3 formations but if McAuley’s last spell in charge of the first team is anything to go by then the Owls may be set up to attack as they managed 10 goals in that four-game spell back in 2006.
Swansea make the trip to Hillsborough without defender Garry Monk as the former Owls centre back is recuperating from a calf injury. Wide midfielder Mark Gower also misses out due to a hamstring problem. The swans could however be boosted by the returns of Guillem Bouza, Stephen Dobbie and Tom Butler.
The threat that the Welshmen possess in attack is likely to come from some familiar faces with ex-Sheffield United players Craig Beattie, Nathan Dyer and David Cotterill all expected to play a part.
In addition to their nine-match winless run the Owls have lost four in succession and have not scored for almost six matches.
Swansea in contrast have lost just two of their last fifteen fixtures, winning seven of these.
Wednesday will be looking to put their poor home form behind them against a team that have never recorded a victory at Hillsborough in 13 attempts to date.
