Villarreal to visit Sheffield
Sheffield Wednesday will face a stiff test as part of their preparations for the 2018-19 Championship season when they play host to Spanish top flight side Villarreal in July.
The Owls will take on Villarreal on Saturday 28th July at 3pm, one week ahead of the new season. Situtated close to the east coast, near to Valencia, Villarreal is a small city with just over 50,000 inhabitants but the football team has thrived in recent years.
They regularly qualify for european competition through their performances in La Liga and did so again this season, finishing in 5th place in a season that saw them take 4 points off European Champions Real Madrid.
