Defender to make transfer window move
Sheffield Wednesday target Michael Hector is to join Championship rivals Fulham according to reports today.
The Chelsea defender spent last season on loan at Hillsborough and had a positive impact, winning the player of the year award at S6. As a result the Owls were keen to bring him back this summer and due to the fact he was moving into his last contracted year at Stamford Bridge, there was optimism that a deal could be reached. Fulham also showed an interest in pre-season but neither club were able to agree terms with Chelsea and the transfer window closed without a deal.
With Hector well down the pecking order in terms of first team opportunities at Chelsea, he has still been looking for a move and he is set to join Fulham. Although he has started training with the Craven Cottage outfit he can't play competitively for them until the transfer window opens in January.
Wednesday brought in two centre-backs in the summer in David Bates and Julian Borner. Borner has made a good start to his Owls career, winning the August player of the month award.
