Sheffield Wednesday travel to Bolton on Tuesday evening in need of a positive result having dropped into the bottom 6 in the Sky Bet Championship table.
The Owls drew plenty of praise for their performance at Burnley on Saturday but they were unable to take advantage when they were on top in the game and ultimately ended up on the wrong side of a 3-1 final score.
Youngster Joe Wildsmith is expected to continue in goal with Keiren Westwood not yet 100% fit.
Elsewhere in the side is anyone’s guess. Carlos Carvalhal has plenty of options to choose from and despite the positive performance at the weekend he has previously seemed keen to make changes when games have come around in close succession. Players left out at Burnley who will be keen to be involved include defenders Michael Turner and Jack Hunt, midfielders Alex Lopez, Lewis McGugan and attacking options Lucas Joao, Marco Matias and Moudou Sougou.
Bolton’s confidence going into this match will have been boosted by Saturday’s home win against Wolves which was their first victory of the season and saw them climb above Wednesday in the league table.
The home side will be without attacking midfielder Darren Pratley and fellow midfield man Neil Danns will need to be assessed having suffered concussion during Saturday’s game.
Defender David Wheater also misses out due to a calf injury but former Wednesday striker Gary Madine is expected to lead the line and he will be eager to open his Wanderers account against his old club.
The 2 sides played out a 0-0 draw when they met at the Macron Stadium last September in a match which saw Jose Semedo sent off for the Owls.
Bolton were 2-1 winners when the 2 sides last played each other at Hillsborough back in January.
