Top scorer could take flight
Sheffield Wednesday forward Josh Windass has been linked with a move away from Hillsborough according to various media reports. The 27-year-old former Rangers player has rumoured to have attracted the interest of around half a dozen club in the second tier with The Star revealing on Friday that Millwall are said to be the first club to have made a formal bid.
The Owls cash flow problems are no secret and their resolve will be tested by any serious bid as a result of this. However, having lost 10 first team players at the end of their contracts this summer, with more set to follow, the club is short of numbers in the first team, especially in attack. Windass scored 10 times for Wednesday last season and if the club were to retain his services he would surely be a key player at League One level.
