Sheffield Wednesday will kick-off the 2015/16 season at home on Saturday when they entertain newly promoted BristolCity.
It has been a summer of change on and off the field at Hillsborough with the appointment of new head coach Carlos Carvalhal and the recruitment of new players has moved into double figures this week as the Owls look to build on last seasons mid-table finish.
Plenty of improvements have been made within the stadium as well with a new state of the art desso pitch hopefully meaning that the poor playing surface that Wednesday were stuck with last season will be a thing of the past. New owner Dejphon Chansiri has also installed the Football League’s biggest scoreboard screen and numerous upgrades to the facilities have been made.
Bristol City travel north in the hope that they can continue the excellent form that saw them dominate League One last season. The Robins have not been as active in the transfer market as the Owl so far this summer though they have added striker Jonathan Kodija from French club Angers SCO for a fee of around £2M.
