The Pilgrims stifled The Owls and defended well but in a poor game, Paul Sturrock's men had the better of it and should have won.
In the last three games prior to last night, Wednesday have been slow out of the blocks but a vast improvement gave Weaver confidence.
He told Footymad: "It was the best first-half performance I have been involved with while I have been at the club and in the second half we showed lots of effort and endeavour but found it hard to break them down. Richie Partridge had a good chance to win it before the end but you couldn’t have asked him to do more than he did and their keeper made a great save – it was destined to be a 0-0 after that."
"I don’t know why we are starting poorly to be honest in recent games," the on-loan Manchester City goalkeeper admitted. "We have talked about it and stuff and I don’t think anyone can work out why – we do seem to start playing when our backs are against the wall but the pleasing thing about the Plymouth game is that we started ok, we didn’t concede so it’s great from a defensive point of view but it would have been nice to get a win.
"A clean sheet though and a draw is something to build on. They are a difficult side to play against and almost came here with a flat-back 10 so to speak and it was always going to be difficult but like I said, it’s something to build on."
More reaction coming up later today.
