The former Middlesbrough stalwart has been struggling with an Achilles problem and made an appearance for the second string this week, although if he does come back for the Spireites game one Sunday, it will be on the bench and nothing more.
Another former Boro player, 18-year-old Chris Brunt, who has signed for the rest of the season, could also make the squad but again, as nothing more than a substitute.
The short-term deal for Brunt could turn into a longer contract if he impresses, although many Wednesday fans believe that Turner is not fully convinced over the talents of youngsters Liam Needham, Laurie Wilson and Lewis McMahon who have all been benchwarmers recently and come nowhere near getting a bite at the first-team cherry.
Turner has expressed his delight at Graham Lee’s return to fitness and he will retain his place in the back three alongside Dean Smith and Leigh Bromby despite being taken off at half time at Home Park on Tuesday as a precautionary measure.
Confidence-ridden goalkeeper Ola Tidman will continue in goal as Kevin Pressman is still not fit after picking up an injury in training on Monday while Steve Haslam is still suffering from a groin strain.
Dean Smith and Alan Quinn will have to sit out some action in the next few weeks though for The Owls, both have one and two-match suspensions respectively hanging over their heads.
