Wednesday Vs Rotherham: Team news & preview
Sheffield Wednesday take on South Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham United at Hillsborough on Saturday and a home win is imperative for the Owls faithful who are becoming increasingly frustrated.
Wednesday will be without Fernando Forestieri who faces 2 months out with an aggravated hamstring injury. Midfielder Barry Bannan faces a late fitness test while Sam Winnall, Kieran Lee and Gary Hooper all remain on the sidelines. Right-back Ash Baker is available for selection having served a 1-match suspension.
Rotherham are without long-term injury victim Darren Potter. The former Wednesday midfielder is out due to an ankle injury. Striker Kyle Vassell, midfielders Joe Newell and Matt Palmer and defender Clark Robertson will all have their fitness assessed ahead of the fixture.
Wednesday go into the game on a dismal run having taken just 4 points from their last 8 games though they did beat Bolton in their most recent home game. Rotherham have a decent home record this season but are yet to win away from the New York Stadium during the current campaign. A win at Hillsborough would see them climb above the Owls in the Championship table.
