Team spirit good - boss

Despite losing more often than winning and some of the most lethargic performances seen at Wednesday since the mid-1970s, Turner claims that the team spirit is good despite the players knowing that most of them will be leaving in the summer.

He says: "The fans deserve better and they will get better, there’s no doubt about it. I have never had a problem raising spirits in the dressing room, not one player at the club can say we are a downhearted club.

"But if we stick with some of the same people next season, then we will have no chance, some players know that. I have to be ruthless to plan ahead and bring in players like Chris Carr and Glenn Whelan than can handle second division football.

"It’s no good getting players from Manchester United and Chelsea who are nice pretty footballers to come to this division just to be out battled and out fought. We need some players in this team who can go to difficult places and win."

He also adds that himself and Dave Allen are working tirelessly to get the club in order for next season and is adamant that the club will see better days again.

He says: "There are two people who are working their socks off to get this club right, unfortunately things are going against us this season, but there has never been a manager in football who has had things go against him only to bounce back, and that’s what we’ll do."
