Thankfully the injury is not too serious with manager Brian Laws stating on the owls official website he expects the striker "could be out for 12 to 14 days... (and).. will definitely be missing from the squad against Colchester on Saturday."
This will come as a blow to the Owls as with Francis Jeffers still on the long term injury list and Leon Clarke out on loan at Southend there is no experienced replacement available on the bench in this position to cover for current 1st choice paring Marcus Tudgay and Akpo Sodje.
If needs must then this role may fall to wingers Jermaine Johnson or Wade Small, who have both played up front in the past due to injuries.
On a brighter note the Colchester game should signal the return to the squad of Glenn Whelan following a short spell out after picking up an injury on "B" international duty for the Republic of Ireland. Given the recent good results and from of central midfield pairing Steve Watson and Yoann Folly, Whelan may have to be content with a place on the bench.
