Two Sheffield Wednesday players have been included in the football league Coca-Cola Championship team of the week after a fine all-round team display in the 4-1 win over Charlton on Saturday.
The 11 players, as chosen by the press association and released on the official football league website included Tommy Spurr and Marcus Tudgay.
Given his two - goal haul and all round performance, it was no surprise to see Tudgay selected but to see Spurr included did raise my eyebrows.
There is no doubt that Spurr has been one of the Owls best and most consistent performers this season but by the high standards he has set for himself his display on Saturday was not his best by any means and this was reflected by fans views on the owls-mad forum.
Debutant Darren Potter may have been a more likely candidate after opening the scoring and rifling a free-kick against the bar as would Michael Gray who assisted in two goals and was unlucky not to find the net himself in what was a lively home debut for the on-loan Wolves man.
