The Owls' play-offs hopes took a massive dent at Victoria Park in horrid conditions and because of results on Saturday, the club now find themselves out of the top six and have a battle on their hands to get into the post season.
Sturrock was far from impressed and issued an apology to the supporters who travelled north to watch the team put in probably their worse performance of the season.
He said: "There are no excuses. I've got to apologise to the 900 hardy souls who travelled to back the team. They've hit difficult conditions and roadworks. The tone of the game was set from the kick off.
"You just cannot defend the way we did and expect to win games. There definitely will be changes for the next game."
