Talbot missed most of the season with a back problem while MacLean struggled with a broken leg and ligament damaged suffered in pre-season.
Youngster Talbot and star striker MacLean both scored vital goals as Wednesday beat Hartlepool at Cardiff in their promotion season but their contributions in the last campaign were minimal because of their injuries.
Sturrock told the official site: "Drew is absolutely flying. He is running at a high tempo and, touch wood, he's had no reaction at all.
"Steven has been doing extra work to get general fitness before the start of pre-season."
Meanwhile, Wednesday have allocated their squad numbers for next season, The only changes are Peter Gilbert (from 35 to 3), Marcus Tudgay (from 40 to 7), Deon Burton (from 19 to 10), Steve Adams (from 15 to 12) and Patrick Collins (from 12 to 17).
New boys Kenny Lunt, Wade Small and Madjid Bougherra have been handed 4, 18 and 21 respectively.
No one yet has been allocated the number 15 which has somehow brought bad luck through injury, bad form or leaving the club - so Steve Adams must be feeling like this season is going to be his year!
