The striker was chilling out at a family party during the summer and was walking on the patio when he accidentally walked over a broken piece of glass.
Unfortunately for Tudgay, who was going through a great pre-season at the time, the glass cut through his foot and into his tendon – forcing the player out for two months.
But now he says that the freak injury is behind him and he is feeling fitter by the game.
He told Footymad: “Yeah it's great to be playing again and what happened to me in pre-season was a setback because if you get injured then you are always playing catch-up with your fitness and if you get rushed back into the team for whatever reason it can affect things more sometimes.
"You don't want to miss any of the pre-season campaign but like I said, I have to work hard and when I am playing, I can get more fitness back that way.
“Everything was going good in the summer, I felt good but in regards to how I suffered the injury, it's just one of those things. I have never heard of a situation like that before but you have to pick yourself up and just get on with things.”
