Striker aiming for Blackpool clash

An early start at the seaside will hopefully not end in defeat, like Wednesday’s previous three meetings with Steve McMahon’s men have this season.

Turner has stated that Robins has done a great job so far this campaign, and has been impressed with his return to fitness.

When it comes to new contracts being renegotiated during the summer, Robins will have done more than enough to earn a new deal.

Turner has also hit back at fans who were booing him against Notts County for taking Paul McLaren off in the second half.

The Owls boss believes that Macca was not match fit and was getting tired, and wanted to keep him for the Blackpool clash.

Elsewhere, mardy Leon Knight is set to miss crucial games in Brighton’s second division run-in after being hit by an FA ban following his outburst at Hillsborough.

The diminutive striker, playing his first game in Sheffield since leaving Wednesday under a cloud last season, was frustrated from start to finish.

The FA have handed him a three-match ban, a similar suspension to what he would have received if he got an automatic red card, although he can appeal the decision.

Knight had an altercation with Lewis McMahon after the final whistle of Wednesday’s 2-1 victory and retaliated to the Owls midfielder’s gesture of a handshake.

The ban could be a massive blow for Albion as they bid to reach the play-offs and bounce back to the first division straight after their relegation.

He and Chris Turner never got on, and Wednesday’s boss did not think he had the attitude he was looking for in a professional player.
