The American defender has been pleased how the team have played recently and especially happy with the fact that the former Scunthorpe manager's transition has been a smooth one.
He told Footymad: "Brian has done a good job here in his first couple of weeks, we were on a good run before he came in so we didn't have to make drastic changes but we are adapting to his ideas and lots of them are making sense so hopefully he can continue to lead us up the table.
"Our run just before the manager came in helped as well because the fans probably didn't agree with the dismissal of Paul Sturrock and our form eased the transition period. I think if we had been doing poorly at that point then you never know but at the moment we have been doing very well and we have to keep it up."
Wednesday's recent win over West Brom also proved the team's worth and the former Arsenal star is hoping The Owls can carry on their current run.
He added: "From the first minute of the game, we put them under pressure because we didn't give them time to rest or put the ball out of play. We dominated in the first half and you can tell by the way we pressured their keeper, it was one-way traffic.
"But in the second half we continued to play well, they got a good goal back through Koumas but a 3-1 win against a team like West Brom, who have invested so much money compared to our team, shows we are heading in the right direction. Winning games does breed confidence and hopefully we can keep our run going
– there's no reason why we can't."
