Sheffield Wednesday were dogged by significant injuries throughout the 2007/08 season and it has taken less than a week to hit the squad again this term.
Fresh from the news that key striker Akpo Sodje will be out for a least a month, more likely two, it was today revealed that Marcus Tudgay will be joining him on the sidelines.
Tudgay has a thigh strain and is likely to miss at least the next two fixtures leaving the Owls with just Deon Burton and Leon Clarke as senior strikers. Luke Boden has been given his chance in some pre-season games and came on as a substitute in the cup defeat against Rotherham last night but he looks someway off the pace at the level at the moment.
Francis Jeffers has been due to make a return to 1st team action in recent weeks but this has been delayed as a precaution with Wednesday not wanting to risk a further setback given the distinct lack of depth in the squad.
