The Dutchman picked up two yellow cards in the second half of the game from referee Paul Danson although Owls boss Terry Yorath felt Sibon's first booking for a collision with David Johnson, was harsh.
"I don't think the referee was looking at the incident. The crowd's reaction might have got Gerald booked, " said Yorath.
"I thought we had our fair share of the first half but if you get a player sent off in that heat, you've no chance."
