Shake up needed - Laws

Goals from Robbie Blake and Chris McCann condemned Wednesday to a confidence-sapping sixth straight defeat in the league and the performance too from all concerned was nothing short of disastrous.

This season has been a huge wake-up call to everyone connected with the club but last night's performance was of similar a showing to that of Chris Turner's 2002/03 team - on a bad day!

Laws, who's own job is now under increased pressure following the 2-0 defeat, admits that everyone is in this together and things have got to change very soon.

He said: "It's going to take a huge, huge haul from the players to pull together and get us out of this mire. "We've got a huge task on our hands, but the only way we're going to turn this around is by re-grouping and working hard for each other.

"We've got a lot of thinking to do and we need to step back and reflect on that performance and find the solution to help us get that win. In our previous defeats I've said we didn't deserve to lose, but tonight we did, we looked like rabbits caught in headlights.

"Our confidence drained after their first goal, but the second goal was the real nail in the coffin with the fragile mentality that the players are in. We've seen last year how good we can be when we're full of confidence, but we've also seen how bad we can be without it.

"We have a lot of young players who need help, the last thing they need is me to lambast them, we're in that dressing room together"
