Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay was linked with a shock move to city rivals Sheffield United yesterday according to blades-mad.co.uk.
The article states Tudgay has enjoyed a good personal record against the Blades and suggests that the Blades may be in the market for a striker in the transfer window to boost their promotion challenge.
However there appears to be little if any detail to substantiate the proposed move with no comment whatsoever to have come from either club, in fact the basis for the piece appears to have come from the ever reliable website, www.football-rumours.co.uk where fans are able to post their own stories and as such this appears to be a non starter.
A more plausible interest in the player could come from Burnley if Brian Laws is appointed as the new boss at Turf Moor. The Premier League side were interested in signing Tudgay in the summer and Laws could be keen on a player who was named PFA fans Championship player of the year under his leadership at Hillsborough last season.
