Sheffield Wednesday travel to Lancashire on Saturday to face a much-improved Preston side as they bid to maintain the promotion challenging form.
The Owls have pretty much a full-strength side to choose from with only Glenn Loovens unlikely to be fit to start. Sam Hutchinson could return but with the Owls impressing in a 4-0 win against Brentford last weekend he may find it difficult to get a starting place in defence or midfield.
Preston are unable to field on-loan Owls full-back Marnick Vermijl and former Wednesday striker Stevie May is still suffering from a long-term knee injury. Midfielder Ben Pearson is once again available for selection after completing a suspension but Simon Grayson could opt for an unchanged starting line-up on the back of successive victories. Former Wednesday keeper Chris Kirkland is likely to be on the bench.
Wednesday are currently in 5th place on the back of 4 wins from their last 6 league games. Preston sit comfortably in mid-table with 3 wins and only 1 defeat from their last 6. The Owls away form has improved since the turn of the year but they have still only won 4 of 15 on their travels. Preston have won 5 of 15 at home to date this season.
The Owls won an entertaining encounter 3-1 when the teams met at Hillsborough in October and they also enjoyed a 2-0 victory on their last trip to Deepdale in 2011 but prior to that they had not managed to win on their previous 8 visits.
