The Irishman was sent off against Chesterfield yesterday for a reckless elbow in stoppage time with Wednesday already down and out of the game.
Quinn, formally this season at loan to Sunderland, has been a driving force in Wednesday's midfield since his return to S6 although his temperament can sometimes be a problem.
He was booked at Plymouth in midweek and was due to miss two games as it was his tenth booking of the season.
Now the sending off at Saltergate compounded Wednesday's woes and because it was an automatic dismissal, he will miss an extra three games. Manager Chris Turner said; "It was a lack of responsibility, he threw and elbow out and I certainly agree with the referee and he went off and will now miss five games."
Wednesday do have Robbie Mustoe to come back into the fold in the next few weeks but the under-pressure boss would love to make changes, although he is reluctant to do so because of lack of experience.
He added: "You look at your bench (against Chesterfield) and when you only have 17-year-old boys there and your team is 3-1, a change won’t do anything, although in a few weeks time we will have about five or six players back from injury."
