Quinn set for start

Wednesday's new signings from Plymouth and Birmingham respectively may be on the bench because of Sturrock's insistence of keeping a winning side.

But with the news that Steve MacLean will be out for a minimum of three weeks will open up a chance for James Quinn in attack.

The former Willem II star has not hit top form yet at Hillsborough and has been struggling to make an impact since the return to fitness of Lee Peacock - but the Northern Ireland international scored a hat-trick in midweek for the reserves against Hartlepool.

In-form Blackpool will not be an easy game though for Wednesday - they have only lost one in eight games and Lee Bullen knows that they have improved since the first fixture in August.

He told Footymad: "When we played Blackpool we weren’t that great so we have improved significantly since then and got to know each other’s game but they are coming off the back of a great result against Walsall so we know it will be difficult but these are the games that we have got to look to win."
