Quinn feels the heat

Quinn returned to action for the first time in five games against Notts County on Monday due to two suspensions hitting him at the same time but faces more time on the sidelines after being sent off in stoppage time.

Turner was fuming though with Quinn and he let his feelings known, he said: “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks - what can you do with players, fine them?

“It is not just the second-bookable offence, Alan says he slipped and I was standing right by the fourth official so I couldn’t agree or disagree with him but his first booking of the game was for nothing really – their player wasn’t going anywhere and he has kicked him from behind, so for the next sixty minutes of the game he is on a yellow.”

Turner continues to say that Quinn knows his problems but it is clear to see that the Owls boss is losing patience with his star player.

He continues: “Too many of his bookings have been for stupidity this season, Quinny knows that, he even went to the press prior to the Brentford game about his discipline and in his first comeback game he gets red carded, I don’t need to answer any more than that.

“At some point you have to think that enough is enough. We can’t have players here for next season that for a quarter of the campaign, they’re getting yellow cards because for that time in the season you have a chance of having men sent off.

“I pride myself on discipline and unfortunately two or three players have ruined that for me this season who have received too many stupid bookings.”
