Owls awarded points reprieve
Sheffield Wednesday received some positive news on Wednesday as an arbitration ruled that the 12-point deduction received by the club at the start of the 2020-21 season was not a fair sporting punishment.
The League Arbitration panel ruled that the penalty should be reduced to 6 points and that has been actioned with immediate effect. The result of this sees the Owls move from -1 point at the foot of the Championship table to 5 points, taking them above Wycombe Wanderers and within touching distance of moving out of the relegation zone.
The Owls have acknowledged the result of the appeal and they will review the content of how the decision was reached before making any further comment.
