Peacock on U's draw - exclusive

The Owls striker lead the line well but United took the lead straight after the break with a spectacular Paul Heckingbottom own-goal which was equalised by JP McGovern’s cracking strike in front of the travelling Wednesdayites.

Peacock told Footymad: “First half we were really disappointed in the performance and our whole style of play was wrong but we went out with a new attitude in the second half. It’s unfortunate for Hecky what happened – it’s a rascal of a ball to deal with and even as a striker you wouldn’t know how to deal with that sort of cross – it was a great finish thought just back luck on his part!

“The way we were playing in the second half, we were creating more and more and pressing further forward. Drew came on and tired their defenders out, JP has taken his goal really well, and it’s about time he scored as well!

“But in all honesty it’s a draw where they outperformed us in the first half but in the second half we stepped it up another gear but in the end a fair result.”

Hull
won away at Bournemouth and automatic promotion looks as far away now as it ever has done but the players will still keep positive and keep winning.

The former
Bristol City striker added: “As long as automatic promotion is still to go for mathematically then there’s all to play for but you also have to keep winning to keep your form going and make sure you hit the play-offs with momentum. We just have to carry on doing what we are doing and worry about other teams later and if some slip up then so be it.”
