Sheffield Wednesday’s League One clash at Brentford, originally scheduled for Saturday 4th September has been put back by a day to accommodate the Sky Sports television cameras according to the Bees official website, www.brentfordfc.co.uk
The clash will now take place on Sunday 5th September with a 12 noon kick-off. This news will be come as a bonus for some as it will obviously open up the availability of seeing the game to a larger number of Wednesday fans.
A number of Owls supporters will be disappointed however as Brentford was highlighted as one of the more popular potential away trips following the club’s relegation to League One and moving the game to a Sunday with an earlier kick-off time makes it far less appealing and accessible in that respect.
Wednesday have a poor recent record in away games in general and are usually even worse when on live television away from Hillsborough but can at least take heart from their last visit to Griffin Park back in 2005. The Owls sealed their spot in the play-off final thanks to a 2-1 win with goals from Lee Peacock and Chris Brunt completing a 3-1 aggregate semi-final victory in front of the live Sky cameras.
