Sheffield Wednesday have added to their squad today with the recruitment of Aston Villa left-back Joe Bennett. The full-back will remain with the Owls until the end of the current season.
Bennett began his career at Middlesbrough, becoming a regular in the side in 2010 before joining Villa in August 2012 for a fee of around £2.7M.
The 25-year-old has been unable to hold down a regular place in the Aston Villa side but did enjoy a successful loan spell in the Championship last season with Brighton, making over 40 appearances for the Seagulls.
His one appearance for his Premier League parent club this season came in the League Cup where he scored in the 5-3 victory against Notts County. He has spent a short-time on loan with Bournemouth this season but did not make a first team appearance for the Cherries.
