Sheffield Wednesday have secured the services of on-loan striker Gary Hooper on a 3-and-a-half year deal from Norwich City. Although the fee has been officially reported as undisclosed it is rumoured to be somewhere in the region of £3M.
With the price of some strikers moving clubs in the January transfer window that fee would represent very good value for a player in the prime of his career with a proven track record for scoring goals.
The former Celtic striker initially joined the Owls on loan in October and by his standards his career at Hillsborough got off to a slow start. As he regained his match fitness however the goals started to flow and by the end of that initial loan spell last week he had bagged 6 goals in 13 appearances.
The 27-year-old signed in time to be able to feature in Wednesday's trip to Reading on Saturday.
