Sheffield Wednesday suffered a 2-0 defeat at Yeovil on Saturday, enabling their hosts to breathe life into their survival hopes while at the same time leaving the Owls looking down instead of up once again.
A victory would have put Wednesday within touching distance of the top half of the Championship table but on a day when a number of results went against them the relegation zone has instead crept back into view.
Victories for Yeovil, Barnsley, Doncaster and Millwall mean that Wednesday are now only 10 points clear of the bottom 3 and bottom club Charlton, 12 points behind the Owls, have 3 games in hand.
The Owls have tough fixtures against promotion chasing QPR and Wigan coming up in the next couple of weeks as well as games against strugglers Doncaster and Birmingham.
Defeats to either of the latter 2 could well make for another nervy end to the season.
