Sheffield Wednesday have moved to bolster their squad with just one day of the emergency loan transfer window remaining by capturing the signing of Seyi Olofinjana.

The powerful midfielder has moved to Hillsborough from fellow Championship side Hull City and he could make his Wednesday debut in the crunch battle with Barnsley this Saturday.

Olofinjana has featured 16 times for the Tigers this season and has a wealth of experience both at this level and in the Premier League. He played more than 40 games on loan at Cardiff City in 2010/11 and made nearly 20 appearances for Stoke in the Premier League during the 2008/09 season.

The tall midfielder's first English club was Wolves where he worked under the leadership of current Wednesday boss Dave Jones and in 4 seasons with the club he made almost 150 appearances.

Olofinjana will add an imposing presence to the Owls midfield and he is also capable of chipping in with a goal, something that Wednesday have lacked from central midfield this season.

With the recent injury to Michail Antonio and the return of Connor Wickham to Sunderland many were expecting the Owls to swoop for an attacking player this week and it remains to be seen if any more business will take place before tomorrow evening's deadline.
