Sheffield Wednesday have moved to strengthen their defence by adding USA international centre-back Oguchi Onyewu to their ranks.
Onyewu, whose short-term contract at QPR recently expired without him making a league appearance for the Londoners, will be a Wednesday player until the end of the current season.
The tall defender, who stands at almost 2 metres tall, was on the books of AC Milan between 2009 and 2011 but although he played in the Champions League for the Italian giants he did not make an appearance in Serie A due in the main to a serious knee inury.
The 31-year-old who has over 60 international caps lists Metz, Newcastle, Sporting Lisbon and Malaga amongst his former clubs and enjoyed his most successful time in Belgium in 2 spells with Standard Liege.
The Owls had been in the market for another defender having seen Wolves centre-back Roger Johnson move to West Ham following his loan stint at Hillsborough.
