Owls set to 'welcome' Warnock on Good Friday

Sheffield Wednesday go into the Easter weekend knowing that they need to maintain their recent upturn in results to keep the play-off chasers at bay and put pressure on the teams above them.

The Owls could be boosted by the return of Fernando Forestieri as the diminutive forward was included as an unused substitute in the last match having missed the previous 4 games due to a knee injury.

Captain Glenn Loovens may miss out with an injury that forced him off at half-time against Newcastle. Vincent Sasso will take his place if he doesn't make it. Sam Hutchinson remains sidelined.

Few changes are expected following a fine performance last Saturday but with 2 games in 3 days, Carlos Carvalhal has a tendency to rotate players at these times and so tomorrow's team may differ somewhat from the one that takes the field at QPR on Monday.

Cardiff''s main injury concern of late is centre-back Sol Bamba. The former Leeds defender missed the win over Brentford at the weekend with a groin injury.

Wednesday have taken 7 points from their last 3 games having previously only won 1 in 7. Cardiff have improved dramatically under Neil Warnock, easing away from early season relegation worries and despite a recent dip they have recovered to take 7 points from their last 4 games.

The two sides drew 1-1 in Cardiff back in October and Wednesday sealed a play-off place last season by beating the Bluebirds 3-0 at Hillsborough in April. However, former Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock was one of only 2 managers to take 3 points away from S6 last season when he guided Rotherham to a 1-0 win.
