Sheffield Wednesday’s penultimate pre-season friendly ended in a 4-2 defeat at Scunthorpe United on Wednesday evening.
Although pre-season results are rarely taken too seriously, conceding 4 goals to a League One side with little over a week to go to the start of the Championship campaign will be a concern.
The Owls took the lead twice in the first half, initially through Nuhiu with a corner from a Wallace header after 10 minutes and then thanks to a tap-in from Matias with Nuhiu providing the assist.
On both occasions the home side drew level almost immediately and they went on to score 2 goals without reply in the second half.
Wednesday’s pre-season schedule concludes with a home game against St Mirren on Saturday.
