Newcastle duo head to Hillsborough
Having brought Dominic Iorfa to Hillsborough as his first signing earlier in the day, Steve Bruce further added to his options on his first day as Sheffield Wednesday manager by bringing in two players from Newcastle United.
Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons will both spend the remainder of the current season on loan at S6 having signed loan deals with the Owls.
27-year-old Lazaar can play at left-back and left-wing and joined Newcastle on a 5-year deal in 2016 having impressed for Palermo in Italy for 2 seasons. The Morocco international has struggled to break into the Magpies team during his time on Tyneside and spent last season on loan at Benevento in Italy.
Rolando Aarons is primarily a left-winger who has been at Newcastle since 2014 and impressed when his broke into the side in the Premier League during the 2014-15 season. Hamstring injuries then curtailed his progress and he has found it hard to get into the Newcastle first team. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Serie A side Verona and has spent the first half of this season with Slovan Liberec in the Czech top flight.
All 3 signings will offer Wednesday some much needed pace and different options in wide positions.
