Wednesday V Stoke: Team news & preview
The Championship returns this weekend following the international break and Sheffield Wednesday face Stoke City at Hillsborough.
The Owls continue to be without Kieran Lee and Sam Winnall as the pair have suffered setbacks from long-term injuries. Gary Hooper and Almen Abdi are making better progress but are not yet ready to be involved in the first team.
Fernando Forestieri starts a 3-match ban for an incident in a pre-season game at Mansfield but new loan signings Josh Onomah and Michael Hector could be involved for the first time. Atdhe Nuhiu will be hoping to keep his place in the side having scored on international duty for Kosovo during the past week.
Stoke will be without Eire international James McClean as he has suffered a broken arm. Sam Clucas is also expected to miss out but Tom Ince could return from a hamstring injury.
Wednesday have won their last three league games and are unbeaten in three games at home this season having won two and drawn one. Stoke have had an indifferent start to their Championship campaign following relegation from the Premier League. They have five points from six games and have drawn one and lost two on the road.
Stoke won the last meeting between the two sides in the League Cup in 2015 and they have not lost on their last four visits to Hillsborough.
