Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood was voted as the Owls player of the season by a landslide, winning over 70% of the votes and his performances have also been recognised by his peers.
The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper was voted into the Championship team of the season at the PFA Awards last week, with votes cast by fellow professionals.
The acolade will have come as no surprise to Owls fans who have seen Westwood secure Wednesday a number of points this season with his outstanding performances, leaving some opponents in utter disbelief at the quality of his saves.
The former Sunderland goalkeeper has kept 17 clean sheets in the Championship this season, equalling a club recod and he should be the first name on the team sheet next season as new Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri looks to build a squad capable of mounting a top six challenge next season.
