Sheffield Wednesday have made a statement today in relation to striker Gary Madine. The 23-year-old forward is to appeal against his recent conviction for GBH and as a result his club have confirmed that they will not make any further public comment on the matter until legal proceedings are concluded.
Madine was found guilty of both ABH and GBH for separate incidents in Sheffield bars in February 2012 and was sentenced to 18 months at the beginning of October.
The former Carlisle striker who is said to be on a £5,000 per week contract at Hillsborough, has had his pay stopped but it is thought that a formal decision regarding his employment by the club has not yet been made.
