Sheffield Wednesday have reacted to their run of 4 successive defeats by signing a winger on loan. Reading wide player Michail Antonio has signed for Gary Megson’s side until the end of the current season.
The 21-year-old has already had a loan spell in League one this season, at Colchester where he impressed in scoring 4 goals in 14 appearances. Last month he broke into the Reading starting line-up and played well in a 1-0 home win against Bristol City but is not assured of a regular game with the Championship club at the moment and so has once again been given the opportunity to get some much needed experience.
Antonio joined the Royals in 2008 and during his time at the club he has also had loan spells at Cheltenham and Southampton.
He is expected to go straight into the Owls squad with a chance of making his debut in the Sheffield derby at Hillsborough on Sunday.
