Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been voting in their thousands through the club’s official website, www.swfc.co.uk to choose the Owls away kit for next season and today the results of the poll have been revealed
Fans had a choice of three kits to pick from, two black and blue striped shirts of similar design and one black shirt with yellow pinstripes. Although all three designs had their merits it would have seemed somewhat strange to have a change strip that also had blue stripes though it would have at least ensured more use out of this seasons away kit as a third strip would have undoubtedly come into play on a fair few occasions. Common sense and style seem to have won the day however as the black shirt with yellow stripes proved most popular, winning almost 50% of the total votes cast.
The shirt will cast memories back to a similar away strip worn by the likes of Walker, Sheridan and Waddle during the 1993/94 season and the club will be hoping that it continues the success of the shirt sales enjoyed this season thanks in no small part to the return to the PUMA brand.
