Sheffield Wednesday ended their trip to Portugal with a 0-0 draw against top flight side Vitoria Setubal in Albufeira.
The Portuguese side, who were once managed by Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal, provided stern opposition as Wednesday look to be ready to hit the ground running when the Championship season kicks off away to Preston on August 5th.
Wildsmith in the Owls goal wasn’t called upon much throughout the 90 minutes but Wednesday found it difficult to test the Vitoria keeper on many occasions either.
The trip to the Algarve has been a productive one overall with fitness the priority and players like Hutchinson, Hooper, Matias and Abdi, who had injury issues when last season finished, have all managed to get involved.
Wednesday will now return to England to face Doncaster away and Glasgow Rangers at Hillsborough in the next week.
