Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has been linked with the vacant managerial position at Premier League club Southampton.
The Saints are looking for a new boss following Ronald Koeman's departure to Premier League rivals Everton and the Owls manager has been touted as a possible replacement with some bookmakers having his odds as short as 16/1, though there are half a dozen or more prospective targets with shorter odds.
Portuguese coach Carvalhal arrived in Sheffield last summer as a virtual unknown in England but has become a popular figure at Hillsborough, leading the Owls to 6th place in the Championship last season before narrowly missing out on promotion, losing to Hull City in the play-off final.
